Plum sky at night - v2

Plum sky at night
nothing so simple, rhyming,
fog to start the day, thick,
now radiant gray-white
a milk-wash over the sky, the dome,
gaining power, bright.
 
Finally, past midday blue sky appearing,
but only for a time, milk-sky returning,
whiter, brighter, making my eyes squint;
sunset now upon us, the cycle,
whisps of clouds lower pinker,
another day ending, darkness come.
