Negotiation, appeasement,
Calling for “A two-state solution”,
Allies discussing, debating,
How Israel should react
Should they be fettered,
To what they see as war,
An existential threat…
 
Iran attacked them, yes,
A reprisal, but who is the enemy,
What is the longer view,
What is the consequence, the cost,
Blood flowing, blood remembered,
Hostages taken, murdered,
Blood crying to be avenged…
 
Disproportionate responses,
Massive retaliation, endless
Volleys, waves of searing attacks,
How will this play about,
While the US Congress dithers,
Debating if we will support,
If we will truly stand with Israel…
