Unsafe

Unsafe, at war, in the body,
in the crucible, terror, unknown,
what might be, what is, chaos,
a word salad, dicta, unprecedented,
unsafe, uncertain, unknown,
not sure of safety, reality,
choosing one camp, one party,
one truth above all else…
 
Unsafe in the maelstrom, the storm,
the winds of change, of division,
of triumph, of rejection, of strife,
too much unknown, uncertain, reality,
lost in the shouting match, destruction,
in our own echo chambers, distant,
from our families, our neighbors,
wearing our colors on our sleeves…
