a false prophet of hate,
seeing righteous on bold sides…
 
A Beast in the body,
seeking to break out,
fed by the bile, poison,
words that he spouts…
 
An ally of Rage,
a megaphone of lies,
denying truth, the reality,

Making Christ a Racist

Angry for their witness
their lies, their hate
claiming Christ would divide
that He would choose a Chosen Race

Making Christ racist
dividing the sheep
when he was sent to gather
the diaspora, the others
into one flock

Angry for their witness
the bile they spew
mad that they claim the name Christ
with this point of view

For they are not Christian
not following his word
denying a place for our brothers
our sisters on earth

Dividing that which he joined
daring to burn his cross
condemning them as others
outside of Christ’s flock

Not preaching the Word of God

They are delusional, filled with hatred
tearing the heart out of scripture
claiming to take a Word of God
preaching it to the people
Yet they are not Christian
their message a bile to his lips
the stuff of the cup he drank
in the Garden of Gethsemane

Christ is not racist
no matter who claims him;
they are of Satan
children of the dark
Christ is love, alive
God’s love come down
come to walk among us
to live as a man, in human body

Christ gave his life, a sacrifice
that we might live, in union
taking on our shame, our stain
drinking of our sin, the cup
Christ is not racist; He is love
his love for all mankind
the Samaritans, the others
all peoples, all tribes

Offering all his grace
his love of the cross
seeking to redeem us
paying that awful cost
Drinking the cup of such bile
the anger, the hatred
suffering for the others
to bring us all to God

No, they are not Christian
not Christian in the least
seeking to hurt, to harm
to intimidate our neighbors
They are not Christian
no matter the name they claim,
those burning that cross are
children only of Satan

Christ is not Racist – v2

Perhaps stating the obvious
but the title not persuasive
because those who claim him
seeking to scare others

Christ is love, alive
God’s love come down
come to walk among us
to live as a man, in human body

Christ gave his life, a sacrifice
that we might live, in union

drinking of our sin, the cup

Christ is not racist
his love for all mankind

Christ is not Racist

Christ was love
God’s love come down
come to walk among us
to live as a man

Christ gave his life
that we might live
taking on our shame
drinking of our sin

Christ is not racist
his love for all mankind
Samaritans, the others
all the peoples, the tribes

Offering all his grace
his love of the cross
seeking to redeem us
paying the awful cost

Stand with Jesus, now
against hate, injustice
speak out against them
those burning that cross

For they are not Christian

Fear is Their Message

Fear is their message
hate, intimidation
the burning cross their tool
setting divisions
not drawing others to Christ
seeking to hurt, to harm
to intimidate our neighbors

Nothing of the Christ
in burning a cross
nothing Christian in this,
in engendering fear in people
especially in the Deep South

Hate isn’t Christian
nothing of the real Jesus
the One who descended
becoming poor, emptied of heaven
who chose to walk as a man

Nothing of Jesus, our Savior
who told us to love as He did
who suffered, who died
bearing our cross, our shame
rising to give us life

We are to love one another
our sisters, our brothers
those unlike us, strangers
who were cast out, separate,
the least and the lost

When hate claims Christ’s name
evil stalking, hurting His people
His ministry here, on this earth
the hope of the nations
God’s kingdom more distant

Nothing of Jesus, nothing Christian
in hate, injustice, fear, intimidation
in setting peoples apart
spreading division, anger
not spreading Christ’s love

Stand with Jesus, now
against hate, injustice
speak out against them
those burning that cross
for they are not Christian
not Christian in the least
seeking to hurt, to harm
to intimidate our neighbors

When Hate Claims Christ’s Name – v2

Nothing Christian
nothing of Jesus
of the One who descended
who walked as a man

Nothing of Jesus
who suffered, who died
who bore our cross
who told us to love all

We are to love
our sisters, our brothers
those unlike us
the least and the lost

When hate claims Christ’s name
hurting his people
his ministry here
the hope of the nations

Nothing of Jesus
in hate, injustice
in setting peoples apart
spreading fear, anger

Stand with Jesus
against hate, injustice
speak out against them
for they are not Christian

Nothing of Christ
in burning a cross
nothing Christian in this,
especially in the Deep South
