#Icarus fell to the earth

His hubris too great,
Setting himself for failure
Too close to the sun
Arrogance on fire,
His spirit in his hands…
 
Too close to heaven,
A battle raging, ignited,
Icarus fell, crashing,
His wings ablaze,
His spirit in his hands…
 
Feathers falling
In fire of heaven
Lost in his misery,
Staring at the light,
His spirit in his hands…

Icarus fell

Too close to heaven,
A battle raging, ignited,
Icarus fell, crashing,
His wings ablaze,

There was Fire – v4

On the Day of Pentecost
there were flames
there was Fire, alive,
quickening Holy Spirit
falling on the disciples
giving them words, power,
to set the world ablaze.
 
On the Day of Pentecost
God’s Spirit fell upon them
they were Emboldened
there was Fire, life-changing words,
they were given voice, a calling
to go to the ends of the earth.

There was Fire – v3

On the Day of Pentecost
there were flames
there was Fire, alive,
