He ventured into the unknown – v3

He ventured into the unknown,
a cursed place yet holy, somehow,
something was there that gave him pause,
grieving, trepidation, but he ventured in boldly.
 
Unable to heed the warning, stepping, going,
not stopping at the threshold
crossing in, crossing over,
stepping right inside.
 
Even though he heard the spirits,
cries of invisible citizens, moaning,
sorrowful denizens of this place,
He entered in, alone.

He ventured into the unknown

He ventured into the unknown

radiating a smell – v2

dripping with disquiet
oozing malaise, indifference,
radiating a smell
something pungent.
 
maybe smoke, mold,
something more urgent, toxic,
returning from the scene of the crime,
landing, with a thud on our doorstep.
 
Despair, if it had a smell,
would be just like this..

radiating a smell

radiating a smell

something pungent

maybe smoke, mold,

something more urgent, toxic,

returning from the scene of the crime,

landing, with a thud on our doorstep.

Despair, if it had a smell,
