Skin of crinkled cellophane – v2

Skin of crinkled cellophane
blistered peel of flesh
Color like the corona,
Outside the arc, the edge,
The plane across
which we traverse,
Alive by the street...
 
Life in the fabric,
Ancient yet enduring,
Flesh puckered, ablaze,
Alight, alive evermore,
A change in our point of view,
A metaphor of the universe,
Framed against the grass...

Can you count the dewdrops – v2

Can you count the dewdrops on living flower petals,
the number of stars above or grains of sand on the shore,
Can you count the hairs on your heads, the number of your breaths,
Do you know how many minutes are in the sum of your days,
How could you, for they are a mystery known only to God...
 
We know only by faith, by striving, by journeying forward,
by trusting, by believing God knows us fully, from before
we were created, in the stillness of our mother's womb,
in secret, the number of hairs on our heads, our minutes,
the path of our lives, the numbers of our days…
 
God alone knows His plans, our calling, our purpose,
while we strive on this earth, while we walk, while we wander,
while we sojourn, while we journey, believing in God,
in God’s promise, for a plan, a path, a purpose,
our joy, fulfillment, far beyond what we understand…

Can you count the dewdrops?

Can you count the dewdrops on living flower petals,
the number of stars above or grains of sand on the shore,
the hairs on your heads, the count of your breaths,
Do you know the number of minutes of your days,
How could you, for they are a mystery known only to God...
 
We know only by faith, by striving, by journeying forward,
by trusting, by believing God knows us fully, from before
we were created, in the stillness of our mother's womb,
in secret, the number of hairs on our heads, our minutes,
the numbers of our days, the path of our lives…

We cannot count the dewdrops, the mist,
on living flower petals, golden blossoms,
the number of stars in the heavens,
the grains of sand on the seashore,
the hairs on our heads, a breath,
the number of minutes in our days,
All of these are a mystery known only to God...
 
God knows us fully, from before we were created,
in the stillness of our mother's womb, in secret,
the number of hairs on our heads, our minutes,
the numbers of our days, the path of our lives,
God alone knows His plans, our calling, 
Our purpose, while we walk on this earth...

The presence of God manifest,
wherever I go, God is with me,
all that I am known, fully,

to the end of my days
God is with me, always,

We cannot count the dewdrops
