Ancient stone walls
In my travels, my journeys,
Out into the woods, the forests,
Walls for fields that once existed
Now lost to the ages, to time;
Their work, their lives,
Long forgotten, a legacy
Without purpose at all.
Ancient stone walls
Pressed by roots, by trees,
Reclaiming their courses
Lines of civilization
Nothing of nature;
Artificial fences
Long forgotten, a legacy
Without purpose at all.
