Dogwoods of Yale

A walk in spring
to calm interview nerves
smell of dogwood
a burst of soft color,
if pastels can burst,
amid the brick and ivy
black wrought iron fences
soft beauty of the petals,
muted form
subtler somehow
within the city
the regal campus
