Christ returned to the Mount of Olives
with His disciples, less Judas,
a place He regularly went;
a place to pray, to be near to God,
leaving the upper room.
Walking across the Kidron Valley,
opposite the Temple Mount;
the seat of their power,
the Romans, the priest, the Sanhedrin,
journeying to the garden, Gethsemane.
Bowing to pray, crying out to God,
in human pain, in anguish,
“Take this cup from me!”,
but submitting in the garden;
“Thy will be done.”
