A reflection, a question,
more than rhetorical,
immediate, now,
right on point.
“What is Christmas?”,
the day just over,
what does Christmas mean
in our daily lives?
Christmas is about God,
about the babe in the manger,
not about gifts, not even family,
all about the gift, the unmerited grace,
God sending His Son
to come down to earth,
full of humanity, humble, mortal flesh,
taking on our sins, all of the rest.
