compassion for her - v2

Christ saw Mary

His mother crying

even in His agony and pain;

He had compassion for her

hanging on the cross.

Seeking to comfort

to protect her

to provide for her

after He was gone,

as His life slipped away.

Christ saw John

His disciple crying

standing with Mary,

the other Mary,

at the foot of His cross.

Bringing them together

His body and ministry

stitching together family

providing for her

as He died in pain.
