blood on our hands – v2

so many towns
names which we know, staggering,
innocents slaughtered
in the halls, the classrooms
Hell here below

blood on our hands
in the name of freedom
carnage repeating
our guns now increase
even more purchased

will reason intervene,
will a filibuster be broken,
stepping back from the brink
or will more arms be loosed
in our land, on the streets
