Wash me in the blood of Christ – v2

“Oh Lord, oh Father God in heaven,
 
Wash me in the blood of Christ,
Wash me, drench me, save me,
Put a hedge of protection around me;
Cleanse me of my brokenness,
Make me clean, righteous, holy.
Let me feel Your presence, Lord,
Your Spirit as close as breath;
Heal me in the water,
Fill me with Your fire,
The power of Your Love
 
Redeem my broken life,
The broken paths I have taken;
Drench me in the waters;
Resurrect my earthly body;
Bring me home to You.”
 
Amen.

An urgent fervent prayer

This poem was written in my mind as I drove home from work

after 11pm on June 20, but it wasn’t written down

until the afternoon of June 21, something I never do.

Most of my poems are in the moment but this one had an urgency to it;

It wanted to be born.
