of death, of damnation... 
Our history does not determine 
our eternal life...
 
the light remains 
even when it is hidden...
Satan does not have the final say
in the story of our lives...
 
We will each fail,
We will stumble... 
fighting in the shade
of our own demons...
 
But God's light shines
cutting through our darkness...
Our past does not determine 
our eternal life...

We live unconsciously,
wandering in our deserts
our eyes on the dust
not thinking of heaven...
 
We each are the Fool
claiming our dominion
taking the place of God
creating false idols...
 
Every decision should start
with a prayer to our Maker,
Every breath is from Him
through His boundless love...
 
The Fool says there is no God,
like him, we struggle,
doing things on our own
forgetting God controls...

the record of our transgressions
were nailed to the tree...
The one sacrifice eternal
on the altar of man
His unrighteous punishment...
 
God’s judgment, His wrath,
washed clean, forgotten,
removed from the ledger
the book of life, eternal...
We stand righteous, forgiven,
by Christ’s sacrifice...

Before we were born,
Christ bore our sin
the blood of judgment
of God’s wrath poured out...
Christ save us from the grave...
 
We are restored through Christ,
by the love of the Father,
We are raised from the pit
from eternal damnation
only by His holy sacrifice...
 
God loves us,
He is our perfect Father...
He sent Christ into time
to let us share eternity
in heaven above...

never free
always in pain
spun around,
tormented...
holding onto the stones
Chewing on the cud
of our sins,
our transgressions in life...
 
God wants us to come
to be transparent
to speak the truth of sin
to wick them of power...
Shine God’s light
to defeat your shadows
admit, confess,
give them to Your Father...
 
rise, anew, reborn,
A captive released
of pain, of bondage,
able to see your identity
in God, in Jesus
to walk out of shadows,
healed, free,
and redeemed...

David carried that weight
heavy scar tissue, that darkness,
his sins against God
against his own self-interest
cleaving to the accusation
even while repenting of his sin...
 
Every sin is against You, oh God,
but also, against ourselves
every harm against others
is a harm against us too,
doubling our anguish,
what we must confess...
 
Our sins do not define us,
Our failures are not final...
We must remember our identity,
We must rise, get up,
We must finish the race before us
for God goes with us...
 
Every sin is against You,
but also against us...
Our sins do not define us
because You paid the price...
Help us to let go,
Help us to walk in Your light...

In the garden, in anguish,
knowing all that would follow
blood-sweat falling
on sacred ground
the prayers of Jesus
to our Father God...
 
“My Father, if it is possible,
let this cup pass from me;
nevertheless, not as I will,
but as You will,” oh God...
 
Fear in His flesh
knowing the pain to come,
in the darkness of the garden
praying in submission –
our servant-savior –
giving His life to God...
 
Christ’s prayer of obedience,
overcoming His fear
fully man, fully God,
under God’s wrath
taking on sin’s mantle
giving His will to God...
