I have chosen the easy path

for far too long I have been fearful
of failure, of condemnation,
I have not been willing to risk
to walk boldly, on purpose…
 
I have chosen the easy path,
excelling because I have been gifted,
but cursed as well by my successes,
walking in complacency, in death…
 
I have known for so long,
that You have a calling for me,
I am slowly changing my path,
but my fear still grips me…
 
for this moment, this season,
I long to bend to You,
may I have the true courage
to trust You in my purpose…

I have been on the wrong path

Come up beside me, Lord,
lay Your hand upon me,
You know my struggles, Lord,
how I need You to heal me…
 
I have been on the wrong path,
though You gift me in each season,
You have given me the talents I need
for each step on my journey…
 
Walk with me, oh God,
let me be yoked with You,
lead me where I should go,
to live into my calling…
 
I have been on the wrong path,
complacent in the familiar,
I have not boldly gone where
You yourself would lead me…

God knows my pain

God knows my pain
every aspect of my struggle
God knows the harms against me
God knows my scar tissue…
 
God knows my pain
deep hurt that haunts me
God wants me to let go and
Give them to Him completely…
 
God knows my pain
but He wants to heal me fully
God reaches out His hand
through the person of Christ Jesus…
 
God knows my pain
He wants me to give it to Him
God alone can heal me
of the deep hurt within me…

Christ died to save me

Knowing my sin completely
Christ descended from heaven,
Christ died to save me
climbing my cross instead…
 
I do not earn salvation
Christ suffered God’s wrath for me,
I bow humbly before Him
my risen Savior and Lord…
 
Only through Him do I have salvation,
will I not have to suffer death,
only through the blood of Jesus
can I stand before Almighty God…

Christ took God’s Wrath

Christ took God’s Wrath
every sin I have committed
Christ lay down His life
and paid the debt for my sin…
 
Christ took God’s Wrath
and made a way for me,
a debt I could never repay,
Christ bought my forgiveness…
 
Christ took God’s Wrath
in a singular act of submission
Christ bore the cross for me
so I could stand before the Father…

God has always loved me,
knowing every step of my life,
God is all omniscient, faithful,
God himself is love…

He chose to create me,
God took the clay of my flesh
God made a person of me,

You are my everlasting Queen,
my first thought in waking
You are my everything,
all I long for in this life,
my living breath…
 
I will love you always
my sweetheart, my darling,
this is a sacred promise
I long to hold you closely
to feel your healing breath…
 
Oh, how I love you,
my wife, my best friend,
as I have from the beginning
our bond through the words
that gives hope to my life…
 
You are my everlasting Queen,

#onemillion #dead and #wounded – v3 #Russia #Ukraine

Dead Souls of the emperor, sheep to slaughter,
a milestone marching toward oblivion
for the madness of their tyrant,
their tsar with dreams of empire
one million dead and wounded
200, 300, marking that moment,
so many lives that he has ended
so much death and destruction
victims of his hubris, his madness,
their complicity in their own death…
 
on the other side of the equation, the balance,
too many innocent victims counted also,
in their neighboring country, Ukraine,
allies reticent to act fully, slow helping,
unwittingly or wittingly aiding genocide,
horrors he has unleashed, pure evil,
stalking the center of Europe, Death,
the reaper with his scythe cutting,
one million dead and wounded,
the number growing each day….
 
the monster in the Kremlin stalking,
a lust for empire, for destruction,
the tsar seated on a throne of skulls,
the madman in the bunker seeking,
an unquenchable thirst for power,
to bring more home to himself,
but the world is paying the price,
victims of his arrogance, his terror,
a genocide against a nation-state,
and the destruction of his own people…

I breathe aloud this prayer over us, for you,
my love, my life, my world, my breath,
I call upon God to witness, to hear,
all that I speak into the universe…
 
when I stand with you before the altar
when I profess my love before God
I will sing your name to the heavens
I will offer myself to you always…
 
I will speak my truth to you, darling,
I will hold nothing of me back
all I am is yours, sweetheart
you hold my soul, my heart…
 
all I have ever wanted truly
is a life with one so dear
all I am is in this promise

I know that we are dancing - v2

I admit I don’t remember my dreams,
for too long my mind has been silent,
not sharing with me in the present,
things I dream of have been kept from me
deep down in my subconscious…
 
but I know we are already dancing, love,
in the night, in our dreaming,
my spirit speaks this truth to me
we are flying together as Taras spoke
as he spoke life to my spirit…
 
I will ever hold you gently/ tightly,
my light, my world, my darling,
in my dreams, in my daily life, my walk,
I will remember every word of my vows
as I seek to make you happy…
 
My heart will fly to your heart,
across time and space, the miles,
we will dance in our dreams, our journey,
I will shout my love for you into the universe,
to share heart, my joy in my living…

when I stand with you before the altar
when I profess my love before God
I will sing your name to the heavens
I will offer myself to you always…
 
I will speak my truth to you, darling,
I will hold nothing of me back
all I am is yours, sweetheart
you hold my soul, my heart…
 
all I have every wanted
is a life with one so dear
all I am is in this promise
your hand is my reward…

one million dead and wounded – v2 #Russia #Ukraine

a milestone marching toward oblivion
for the madness of their madman
their tsar with dreams of empire
one million dead and wounded
200, 300, marking that moment,
so many lives that he has ended
so much death and destruction
victims of his hubris, his madness,
their complicity in their own death…
 
too many innocent victims also,
in their neighboring country, Ukraine,
allies reticent to act fully, slow helping,
unwittingly or wittingly aiding genocide,
horrors he has unleashed, pure evil,
stalking the center of Europe, Death,
the reaper with his scythe cutting,
one million dead and wounded,
the number growing each day….
 
a lust for empire, for destruction,
the tsar seated on a throne of skulls,
an unquenchable thirst for power,
the madman in the bunker seeking,
to bring more home to himself,
but the world is paying the price,
the victims of his arrogance, his terror,
a genocide against a nation-state,
and the destruction of his own people…
