In the Way of a Fallen World

In the Way of a Fallen World

Too often I get caught up
focused upon myself
finding my way difficult
wondering which way to turn

Far too easy
to go with the crowd
huddle masses, tumult
leading to death

In the way of a fallen world
hustling here and there
no peace within us
no peace anywhere

God offers that peace
conformed to his path
through the valley of shadows
to the field, the waters

Into the light of a bright future
walking with the shepherd
leading from glory to glory
a way out of this desert

Only to turn to him
to repent of our sins
only to stay true to him
submitting our will to his
