The tug, the pull
the walking on this earth
competing efforts
calling to us, to work
to family, to neighbor
to strive to succeed
but a different calling
to bring us to our knees
To be single-minded
focused on the Christ
walking on the waters
whatever winds may blow
hating our own lives
turning from the world
acting out our beliefs
going where we are called
