When Jesus spoke to the people
the unbelieving leaders
when the chosen ignored him
didn’t listen to his witness
when the people mocked him
claiming to understand
to know the love
arguing with the Son of Man
What did his voice sound like
arguing in the courts
in the temple gates
in the streets, the hills
was it sadness, a cloak about him
was he angry, frustrated
did he scream and shout
when the people denied him
when the leaders sought to kill him
what the Christ sound like
when we failed to believe him
