Meaning in Christ’s Prayer – v2

Power in Christ’s words
the first of the Seven Words
statements of Christ
on that rugged cross

Beginning with a prayer
for them, for all of us
Christ seeking to intercede
asking God to forgive each of us

Meaning in Christ’s prayer
not just for them, power to heal
those around the cross itself
a richer intent he brought

Praying for each of us
all people throughout time
that we would, like the good thief
that we each would repent in time
