Two brothers
each of them lost
in their own way,
estranged from the Father
carrying their own sin.
Sin heavy upon them
though different in kind
unable to see the love of the Father
wanting the best for each of them
in His own way.
One running away,
to a different land
demanding his treasure
lost on this earth
following the flesh.
The older brother
close by but blind,
jealous of the Prodigal,
unable to see the Father
His arms open wide.
