Artistry of the pastry chef

in subtle shades of white

of gold, of forest greens,

playing with sugar, icing,

confectionary, granular,

whipped, spread smooth,

a coating, a covering,

a blanket of white, of shadow,

fields, hills, miles of fondant,

smooth dunes of stillness

hiding the fields, the forests,

in sugars, in white
