so many textures

so many textures

So many textures

images fleeting, overwhelming

coming into my consciousness

captured as we drive along, quickly,

seeing the snow, the fields, the forests

just off the road, the highway,

off to the horizon line.

So many textures

of the pillows in the branches

the ditches, the banks, the fields, the forests

reflecting, blowing, drifting, smooth,

flowing as we drive along, quickly,

off to the horizon line.

So many textures

fine granular sugar, talcum powder,

confectionary sugar, fondant, blankets,

flour, crystals, ice, silting the roadway,

changing as we drive along, quickly,

blowing in the wind, sand dunes, fields,

off to the horizon line.
