who are the others, the strangers

Who are the others, the strangers,

those we call outside of our circle,

those we see as outsiders

unworthy of our love?

 

How can we ever justify

our discrimination, unloving;

How do we reconcile

what we do with the Christ?

 

Christ loved the outsider,

the stranger, the other;

Christ brought them all within

God’s circle of love.

 

How can we ever claim

to be a real Christian,

a true follower of Christ

when we do not love

all those we meet?
