we deny the Christ

We deny the Christ

His presence, His person,

when we reject the sojourner,

the stranger, the travelers,

the angels among us,

Christ’s hands and feet,

made goats, not sheep.

We deny the Christ

made goats, not sheep,

the ones at His left hand,

the ones to be cast out,

when we reject the travelers,

the strangers, the sojourners,

Christ’s hands and feet.
