I hide from my fears

I hide from my fears

pulling the covers over

hitting the snooze alarm

time and again.

 

I cannot do this,

I’m done, I’m broken,

I say out loud,

attracting more sorrow.

 

I pray to God, to the Father,

to the Spirit indwelling

to my risen Lord Jesus,

for them to take over.

 

I breathed a prayer into the universe,

my hope in Your promise;

You answered me, Lord,

in power, in abundance.

 

You made me a way,

though I am still broken;

You answered my prayer,

You opened another door.
