Crying for Crimea
the touchpoint of this conflict
for the pain of conquest,
the ripping apart,
stitching together,
the movement of forces…
 
Geopolitics, pawns in the middle,
of arrogance and power,
bare-knuckle brute strength,
quiet diplomacy, all of it failing,
in appeasement and timidity,
under abject aggression…

in February and March 2014, with the invasion of the green men,
but Crimea is complicated, because the Russian Black Sea Fleet
has been in Sevastopol since 1783…
