You are the Christ

Words of power, of authority,
clarity in the moment,
but needing to submit, to trust,
in the calling of Christ Jesus…
 
Oh, how Peter was right,
when he answered the question of Jesus,
He was the Messiah, God’s Son,
the One foretold in scripture…
 
But Peter had it wrong,
not seeing Christ’s purpose,
how He had to suffer and die,
to fulfill prophesy…
 
Jesus is the Christ,
the One who descended,
the One to take our iniquity
to the cross, to the grave…
 
Christ rose in power,
not of earth but of heaven,
to redeem us to God,
to raise us all up to Glory…
