drab vistas

hillsides of dull green

autumn erupting

a burst of color

sudden change

reversal

unique shades of meaning

all come into view

in God’s own time

which I can share

for plants, for animals

for birds of the air

thankful for life

the day to come

only Christian

some who claim him loudly

who say they are Christian

that they follow Christ

speaking, acting harshly

failing to act in love

some of the least Christian people

I have ever known

those who claim Him most loudly

the One who was the come.

boldness without retreat

our prayer to receive

words of the Spirit

the voice of God

give us boldness

with no retreat

no off button

as we preach Christ

our prayer to witness

to share the word

Christ boldly

in this troubled world

seeking to testify

to preach Christ

faithful in witness

bold in our walk.
