Striving to see the white - v3

Bright sun overhead, almost blinding,

reflecting, refracting off the ice, the snow,

driving by quickly on the roadways

on the thin ribbon of asphalt

beside the fields, within the forest,

striving to see the white

in all its beauty, its grandeur.

Striving to see the white

not merely white, solid,

so many shades of color

of texture, of dimension

snow not a monolith,

monochrome, tonal qualities,

a palette of infinite hues.

Glare in our vision

overwhelming synapses,

driving by quickly

striving to see the white

all of its shades, its textures,

offering so much, revealing,

if we only look more closely.
