The suffering servant - 2

Christ’s very first disciple,
the suffering servant,
the Mother of God, Mary,
mortal like all of us…
 
A willing vessel, a handmaiden,
a daughter of David, of Jacob,
brought to a place of glory,
yet bearing so much….
 
She knows our struggles,
our suffering in this life,
for she has walked that journey,
from the manger to the cross…
 
A willing servant, a disciple,
who raised the baby Jesus,
Mary walked with Him in life,
from the cross, to heaven above…
