Cataracts

logs in my eyes, blindness,
cataracts on my spirit
filtering every moment
through the lens of my pain…
 
fearful, angry, defensive
jumping to the wrong conclusions
assuming the worst in everyone,
in fear, running away…
 
a scarcity mindset,
denying God’s abundance
every gift of the Creator
poured within my heart…
 
logs in my eyes, cataracts
blinding my vision,
seeing God’s love dimly
in a mirror cracked…
 
Free my flawed vision
open my eyes, oh Lord,
the wonder of creation
so I my love You, oh God…
