letting go of my anger

my quick, knee-jerk reaction,
the default position, response,
anger rising within me,
paying an awful cost…
 
knowing there is more
buried deep within me
struggles ancient, primordial,
a battle within my spirit…
 
I know only in part,
so I must keep digging
to get down to the root,
the core of my story…
 
letting go of my anger
requires the full revealing
the root at the core of my being
before healing can begin…
 
I am on this journey
I feel the fruits rising
more to come but remaining
faithful to the work I have begun…
