We too often struggle, we hide,
from our truths, our own demons,
our secret sins, our trials,
stones that we carry,
too heavy, too many by far…
 
We are too scared, too ashamed,
to share, to be brutally honest,
But healing comes from confronting,
what we have denied, what we have hidden,
from others, from ourselves…
 
They are too much to carry, a burden,
on our souls, on our spirits,
weights, fetters, chains,
of our present, our past,
crying out in the night…
 
We are too scared, too ashamed,
But in truth there is our hope of freedom,
confronting the things, the demons,
what we have hidden, denied,
before others, before ourselves…
 
And yet, none of this is hidden,
from God, from our Father,
He is all-knowing, all-powerful,
He knows us completely…
God is just waiting for us to return…
