too scared, too ashamed – v2

too often we struggle, we hide,
from our truths, our demons,
our secret sins, our trials,
the stones that we carry,
too heavy, to many, by far…
 
too scared, too ashamed,
to share, to be brutally honest
but healing comes from confronting,
what have denied, what we have hidden,
from others, from ourselves…
 
too much to carry, a burden,
on our souls, on our spirits,
weights, fetters, chains,
of our present, our past,
crying out in the night…
 
too scared, too ashamed,
but in truth is our hope of freedom,
confronting the things, the demons,
what we have hidden, denied,
before others, before ourselves…
 
none of this is hidden,
from God, from our Father,
He is all-knowing, all-powerful,
He knows us completely,
God is just waiting for us to return…
