My part of the world is waking – v2

My part of the world is waking,
from sleep, from frozen slumber,
light is breaking in the east,
where you, my love, are living…
 
The same sun warms us,
rising in the heavens, higher,
how I long to be with you,
to touch you, to feel
your warm embrace…
 
For now, there is this consolation,
my part of the world is waking,
I sing of our love together, stronger,
Even while we are yet miles apart…
