My spirit aches for you – v2

I only have to hear the chime,

the sound of a text from you
your face, your voice, your presence,
your image on the flickering screen…
 
My spirit aches for you, sweetheart,
I long to hold you close to me
to hear your heart beating with mine,
to kiss your soft, beautiful lips…
 
How I long to drink in your eyes,
to see your love shining with me,
wanting all of you, only you,
my love, my one heart’s desire…
 
My spirit aches to be with you, now,
though we are separated by distance,
the crucible of these days will be crossed,
we will taste our prayer of togetherness…
