You were not mine to hold onto
your image on the flickering screen
ready to delete in a moment
held only in memory,
wanting the moment to remain
to hold on a little longer,
but it was not meant to be…
How it hurt to press the bottom
to release you back to the ether
but that was the term, the condition,
for that moment, the instant,
to see you as you were
when that image was captured
when I do not know…
