war within our spirits raging
under the dermal membrane
poison below scar tissue
never fully healed...
 
the consequences of a silenced truth
a burden we each carry
pain of a distant past
casting shadows into the future...
 
a battle of memory
chaos conjured, precipitated,
distilled in pain spoken...
before the war can end...
