like a proverb in the mouth of a fool
so are Your words, oh Lord,
to my simple mind...
long years of education
do not change that...
I am lost without You, oh God...

may I hold Your Word
like a mirror before me,
may I see my folly
when I seek You, oh God...
Help me to change...
to follow You fully...

gift me wisdom
to run from my pride
my endless folly...
Lead me to You,
to Your truth,
to Your Love, oh Lord...
