Too close to the border, to terror,
to the repeating onslaught, daily,
caged by restrictions, rules,
bright lines they always cross…
Not allowed to strike the archers,
to thwart their genocide…
 
Too close to the border, to terror,
for warning, defensive actions,
missiles, drones coming,
shattering the stillness…
Trapped in safe places,
while their bombs fall…
 
Too close to the border, to terror,
a great city, a vulnerable population,
their continuing fight, their struggle,
forgotten in the fleeting news cycle...
We say we stand with them,
but the bombs continue to fall…
 
Too close to the border, to terror,
a forgotten easy target, repeating,
their only defense is to fight,
to strike the bases, the archers…
Too little time for self-defense,
to catch their incoming arrows…

Too close to the border, to terror,

Neutrality is a myth, a lie – v2

In the exigency of this moment,
in the crisis that they continue to face,
too many years lost in appeasement,
in walking on eggshells, on broken glass,
barefoot, watching their every step…
 
Neutrality is a myth, a lie,
every delay is real escalation,
emboldening the terror, their evil,
existential threats grow greater,
with every moment, each breath…
 
Cries of the innocents,
this nation, their people,
require bold action, resolve,
to meet this present moment
to stand in the gap, the breach…
 
The world order failing, weak,
Impotent against their evil, war,
while terror and genocide are rampant,
too long have they stood alone, resolute,
while the world waits for their true courage…

Paralyzed by red-lines – v2

Drinking the Kool Aid of the Cold War,
paralyzed by red-lines, threats,
amidst constant escalation,
not wanting to cross a line,
the other side has obliterated…
 
From our safety, our comfort,
we set rules of engagement,
but we are making heroes martyrs,
in the lie, the canard of neutrality,
the myth of restriction, of restraint…
 
Drinking the Kool-Aid of the Cold War,
paralyzed by red-lines, warnings,
making allies a bleeding proxy,
our own lives unaffected,
while they scream out in pain…
 
From our safety, our comfort,
setting lines not to cross,
gifting the aggressor freedom,
to use terror and genocide,
day upon day, month after month…

Neutrality is a myth, a lie

Neutrality is a myth, a lie
 
In the exigency of this moment,
too many years lost in appeasement,
in walking on eggshells, on broken glass,
barefoot, watching their every step…
 
Neutrality is a myth, a lie,
every delay is real escalation,
existential threats grow greater,
with every moment, each breath…
 
Cries of the innocents,
this nation, their people,
require bold action, resolve,
to meet this present moment…
 
The world order failing, weak,
while terror and genocide are rampant,
too long have they stood alone, resolute,
while the world waits for true courage…

Paralyzed by red-lines

Paralyzed by red-lines,
In the midst of escalation,
Not wanting to cross a line,
That the other has obliterated…
 
Setting rules of engagement,
But making them a martyr,
On the canard of neutrality,
The myth of restraint…
 
Paralyzed by red-lines,
Making them a bleeding proxy,
Our own lives not affected,
While they scream out in pain…
 
Setting the lines, to not cross,
Letting the aggressor have freedom,
To use terror and genocide,
Month after month…

Neutrality is a myth
