Paralyzed by red-lines

Paralyzed by red-lines,
In the midst of escalation,
Not wanting to cross a line,
That the other has obliterated…
 
Setting rules of engagement,
But making them a martyr,
On the canard of neutrality,
The myth of restraint…
 
Paralyzed by red-lines,
Making them a bleeding proxy,
Our own lives not affected,
While they scream out in pain…
 
Setting the lines, to not cross,
Letting the aggressor have freedom,
To use terror and genocide,
Month after month…
