The divine was revealed
made clean, prepared, anointed,
not with a golden crown;
but with water,
not in the Temple
but there in the Jordan,
in the wilderness
in the water with John.
Submitting to an act of trust,
a falling into the water
a washing away of our sin
in supplication and fulfillment
to begin His own journey,
His three years of ministry,
His mission, His fate, Jesus,
our risen Lord and Savior.
