A Chorus of Autumn

Each fall, the lake
changing complexion
the color, the spirit
the calls on the water

The bathers of summer
noises of people
giving way each year
a chorus of autumn

The birds instead calling
one to another
a sojourn of migration
to warmer climates

Each season in turn
flowing one to another
for now a chorus of autumn
until the chill of winter
