In the midst of his pain, anguish
my master gazing upon me
with eyes of conviction
realizing what I had done
No matter what I had professed
the assurance that I would be faithful
when it came down to it
I denied my Savior
the Son of God who came
who walked with me here on earth
more than words of indictment
Christ, through his tears,
looking with eyes of conviction
my life, my world, my center
crumbling around me
I just had to run
