a revelation within each kernel

a revelation within each kernel

Seeing the infinite for the first time

in the images a miracle, creation,

from conception all they will ever be

a revelation within each kernel

an expanding universe;

Truth within each bud

the lilac before its blooming.

Looking more closely, deeply

into the mystery, the womb,

seeing the design, precise structures

the lilac buds bursting, unfurling;

Life in completeness, wholeness

a glimpse of eternity, of creation,

within the hand of God.

Opening ever so slightly, quickly,

changing slowly, steadily

emerging from the womb

like a cicada from the pupae

from winter, in secret;

Life ready for sunlight

for the awakening of spring.

The DNA, God’s fingerprints

within the buds, the images

life in miniature, completeness,

from conception, awareness;

Each kernel, each blossom,

bursting forth, revealing

the love of eternal God.
