Aurora – v2

Below the dome of the stars
in the frozen February sky
Pull over to the shoulder
my visible breath aglow…

Dancing lights, flickering stars
sway to the images, the movement,
stored on rods and cones,
Turquoise and ruby red grapefruit
Pale canary and pure blue…

The magic froze me for a while
separated from my journey
by the light show, the wonder,
echoes of the solar eruptions…
