The sentience of the woodlands – v3

walking into the woods
alive all around me, crying out,
climbing the mountain within them
drawn by the whisper, the wooing,
the song dwelling within...
 
the sentience of the woodlands
a consciousness, a knowing, alive,
the trees, the plants, the bushes
even the rocks, the soil, the dirt,
each of them has their own story to tell…
 
if we would only perceive it,
if we would but listen, more deeply,
ancient cries of the forests, of nature,
of our time on this earth, our journey,
we have so much more to learn…
