The power of our words – v2

Our thoughts, our ideas, our words have power,
to move mountains, to change history,
growing within our spirits, seeking voice,
to change the direction of the wind,
to speak, to rise to a crescendo…
 
Like pebbles gently tossed, thrown
by little hands into a rain puddle,
like larger hands, growing, rising,
lifting stronger, harder challenges,
finding their agency, their voice….
 
Casting rocks into a lake, a pond,
a pool, casting widening ripples,
become adults, advocates, in the trenches,
stronger voices yet, words of power, truth,
large boulders hurled into the Sea…
 
Yes, each of us holds great power,
within our words, our spirits, our calling,
words to uplift, to raise up, to love,
to carry another’s burden, to strive,
to fight against a great injustice…
