Trapped within the history of myself – v2

Stuck where I am now, not moving forward,
not pursuing my dreams, my aspirations,
feeling there is so much more, out there,
but trapped in the history of myself,
familiar steps, the same patterns,
stuck where I am, the same feeling,
repeating doubts, the same fears,
stuck in the same mud…
 
Trapped so I cannot move, forward,
so I cannot rise, climb, I cannot fly,
wanting desperately to say no,
to reject the chains that hold me
but going back to carry the burdens,
that I have wanted to let go of,
to pick back up the sins, anxieties,
any baggage that I carry…
 
Stuck, but feeling that wall beginning,
to crack, ready to be shattered,
knowing within me that change,
is here, upon me, if I will reach,
if I will embrace it, if I will strive,
into that future, unburdened,
leaving my chains in the past,
breathing the air of freedom…
